Ahead Of The Storm
by Misty Jones, age 15, from US
Once again
I find myself in the midst
Of the heavy winds and rain.
My ship sinks
And yours sails on,
My heart breaks
And yours endures.
I collapse
And you stand firm,
I hesitate
And you charge on.
Once again
I find myself as the
Failing,
Falling,
Faulty soul,
Wishing I could stay
Ahead of the storm.
Once again
I find myself caught
In the worst of the uproar,
In the upheaval of it all,
In the center of the terror,
That has never,
Is not,
And never will touch you.
The waves are high,
The winds are strong.
I am lost at sea
While you remain
Ahead of the storm.
