What You Wanted
by Jose Reyes "Tech", age 15
You said you wanted a break
and that you would always be here,
But I never realized that
my pains were actually fear,
I didn’t want to love you
only so I wouldn’t feel,
The pains of my broken heart
that I knew would never heal,
You said don’t judge you
by the relationships of my past,
And that I wouldn’t know
how long we would last,
Yet here you are asking for this break,
I never knew
how good you could fake,
All those feelings
you said you had,
Even though
they were only a fad,
I gave you what you wanted
which was some time,
This was when I thought
that you were still mine,
Knowing that tomorrow
is a brand new day,
I came to you thinking
you would still stay,
I never knew
how much I would fear,
The moment I saw
your friends coming near,
They gave me the news
and I told them not to fallow,
Because I knew
that my tears would fallow,
As I sit here all sad and hurt,
The first thing you did was
walk around and flirt,
Could it be I'm alone again,
Back to loneliness
my only true friend.
