My Love Stays Undefined
by Enola Bright, age 13, from the UK
Sometimes you stare into my eyes
And I wonder what you see.
I'd give everything I've ever achieved
To know what you think of me.
Your smiling eyes catch me
In sweetness of your face,
The whisper of your moving hair
Which, strangely, stays in place,
The way you manage to make me smile
Even when the smiling hurts,
And afterwards, how I'm inspired
When before, I was lost for words.
Lonely living, single and sad,
My face, not my soul, is what others see
You've never said a word about it
So I keep thinking, 'does he love me?'
I search and search for some sort of answer,
A word of hate or love to ease my pain,
But deep inside I know I'll never find it.
For though I love you, do you feel the same?
When you walk into the room
Millions of words may come to mind
But none come close to what I feel
And so my love stays undefined.
