I wish my words could get through to you
The way they were intended to
I wish they could go deep enough
And explain why I sometimes act so tough
I wish you could see what lies behind my smile
And get to know me for just awhile
I wish you would take that chance
And hurt your pride instead of me for once
I wish you would love me
But I know better off I'd be;
Without you.
I wish I could see
That your not the right one for me
I wish I could show
That my love for you won't grow
And I wish I would stop falling for you
The way I always do
But most of all
I wish I could hate you
I wish you could see
That I could hurt you too
And show you how it is to be me
But I'll go on passing you in the halls
Pretending you're nothing to me
I hate loving you
But that's something that will have to be.
