Everyday

by Maple, age 15, from Australia

Feathers dancing in the wind,
scented candles burning bright.
Petals open, petals close,
wings outstretched, gliding through flight.

Angles singing in our heads,
children laugh, children cry.
Glass shatters, snow melts,
we're sleeping under the same moon-lit sky.

Sun rises, sun sets,
night follows day, day follows night.
Butterflies flutter in a jar,
I let them go, theyr'e free at last.

Pain, guilt, love and joy,
everyday millions of drops of tears are shed.
Photos in frames, captured memories,
ink on paper writes our stories.
