Nothing will be the same

by Aussie Rosenfeld, age 12, from US

As summer turns into fall,
and the leaves dance in the wind.
When smiles turn to frowns,
and frowns to smiles.
You can only look back to learn and remember,
because things will never be the same.

As fall turns into winter,
and everyone is older.
As barbies turn to books,
and fantasies to reality.
You can only reminisce and smile,
but everything keeps growing, you---the world.

As winter turns to spring,
and new things burst to life,
other's die.
Growing and blooming, for better or for worse?
Shifting, moving, adjusting.
To life's ever changing ways.

As summer returns again,
it still isn't the same,
nothing stays,
nothing is forever.

everything's so different and new.
And after, only the memories remain.
Dying, living, now, then.
Nothing will ever be the same.
